News & Events At Jeyes

News Item 1 - The opening of 'The Fun of The Fair' Model Exhibition

The first event we held to celebrate the opening of the model funfair at Jeyes was a staff preview party. On the 31st March all the staff and partners joined us in the shop for an evening of 70's style nibbles, Mateus Rose, music and even some clowns for entertainment! With all the rides whizzing around and the music and lights flashing it put a smile on everyone's face.

The following day we held an open day for all family, friends, customers, visitors and the school children to come along and see the funfair. The whole day was dedicated to fairground music, games and even a fairground cake. Our clowns were back and gave all the children face-painting. In the garden we had traditional stalls - coconut shy, hook-a-duck, hoop-la and tin can alley. Everyone who visited us had a brilliant day and was amazed with the fairground.

We had a special guest visit us to officially open the funfair. George Jennings' who built the funfair joined us for the day in a big celebration with his family and friends. We wanted to show him that all his love and hard work on his funfair over the years had not been wasted and now belongs in a lovely new home here at Jeyes. He was delighted and is pleased we are putting it on show for free for everyone to see. The family were presented with cheerful red and yellow bouquets to match the bright colours of his funfair. It certainly was a special day to remember. Please do pop over to see the model funfair..........Life is like a rollercoaster.......so hold on tight!

News Item 3 - 14th July 2009 -The Jeyes family open a new gift shop in The Vale of Glamorgan

Cowbridge is a lovely market town in the heart of The Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. The Jeyes family have always visited and loved Cowbridge, exploring the boutique shops and enjoying long lunches in the various restaurants. It was a family dream to one day open a little gift shop on the High Street and on one sunny day this June David and Georgina found the perfect site. 40 High Street was in the middle of the action and the perfect place for the family to start up their shop. They wanted the family connection of Earls Barton to stay with them in Wales so have simply called their gift shop Jeyes! It is a quaint and traditional shop selling gifts and keepsakes for family and friends.

Jeyes opened the shop on the 14th July 2009, inviting friends, family and other shop owners of Cowbridge. They had pink bubbles to celebrate with everyone who visited and everyone had a fun and successful first day of business.

Cowbridge is hosting a fashion festival in October where the streets and shops come alive with glamour and gifts. Over 8th, 9th, 10th October there will be fashion parades, champagne trails, late night shopping and a dinner dance to celebrate the finale. Jeyes will be involved and be transforming their shop into a tardis of Welsh Jewellery, stunning jewellery boxes, handbags & purses and bed and table linen. If you would like any more information on the fashion week or Cowbridge then please phone us on 01604 810289 / 01446 775779.
